Magic Hat #9 Clone (Apricot Ale)

Some shots of my Magic Hat #9 Clone (Apricot Ale). I more or less followed the "can you brew it" recipe, but I was planning for 65% eff on the mash and for a 3-step mash. Mash initial temp missed by 10F somehow, so I added 212 water, and funny enough, the amount needed for the mash-out. So I skipped this step. I also did a 45m sparge. 75% efficiency! I thought about watering it down to the right OG, but I just left it :D So this brew is OG 64 instead of 53.

Here's a link to the "Can You Brew It Recipe"
OG/FG 53/18
SRM 7
IBU 19.2
ABV 4.7%

Here's a link to my modified batch I ended up with... note the increase of grain and the small addition of hops at 10m.
OG/FG 64/tbd (probably 21)
SRM 8
IBU 18.5
ABV 5.7%

Yeast Starter :D

Made a 1.5L yeast starter of light DME and WLP002 for the magic hat #9 close. Crashed & decanted the starter. Tasted like Corona Familiar.

Sea Dog: Apricot Wheat Beer

I got this as some inspiration for my magic hat #9 clone, but this beer is pretty bad. Flavors are off and fake tasting. Haven't tried a beer from these guys that I like :(

A contemporary rendition of a classic style, Joe's is hopped with purpose: beautifully bitter and dry with an abundance of floral, Noble German hops. Uber sessionable. Utterly American. This is Premiuim American Pilsner.

Ninkasi 4-Pack!

Nuptale Cream Ale is what I think bud tastes like to hillbillies. If bud tasted like this, I'd drink it.

Heater Allen: Pils

Pils - This is our take of the renowned Bohemian-style pale lager that you might find in Bavaria or the Czech Republic. Ours is a little more golden, rounder, and a little more malt driven than many other versions. The beer possesses strong hop character that is balanced by its rich, round, malty palate. Refreshing and balanced, this beer is a favorite of our winery friends during harvest. (1.012 BG, 5.0%, 38 IBU, 3.8 SRM) *** Currently #4 in RateBeer.com Ratings ***
